To protect against the spread of Corona, the Saxon government has passed a new Corona Protection Ordinance. This has been in effect since 2 November until further notice. It provides for contact restrictions, closure of facilities and other measures to contain the pandemic. Particular importance is attached to hygiene measures.

For most people, hygiene measures are now part of everyday life. Adherence to the AHA+A rules is an important tool to ensure that the number of new infections does not continue to rise. This includes keeping the minimum distance of 1.5 metres, wearing an everyday mask, following hygiene rules such as thorough hand washing and using the Corona warning app if possible.
In larger crowds or in situations where it is difficult to keep the minimum distance, an everyday mask should be worn. To this end, most federal states have extended the wearing of a mask to pedestrian zones, including the Free State of Saxony.Other precautionary measures include washing hands thoroughly, not shaking hands in greeting and coughing or sneezing into the crook of the arm.

Ventilating rooms is particularly important in autumn and winter. This measure should minimise infections and thus protect people. Particular attention should be paid to regular ventilation at the workplace and in schools. Meetings should also be moved to larger rooms to maintain the minimum distance. As additional protection, employees can wear a mask on their way to the workplace and in meetings.
