People with disabilities

People with disabilities

People with impairments should be able to lead as normal a life as possible, as can. There is a lot of support for relatives caring for people with disabilities.

The challenge for the care of disabled people is that they should be able to master their daily lives as much as possible independently and firmly. This claim results in various rights and obligations for you as a relative.

From when a person is officially considered "disabled," it is laid down by law. The degree of disability of a person is examined and officially established at the request of doctors. The degree of disability of a person is examined at the request of doctors and officially established by the authority responsible for the implementation of the federal supply act or the competent authority regulated differently under state law (in Saxony: municipal social association Saxony, KSV, or local social services office). The degree of disability is recorded in a disability ID.

With the official confirmation by a medical opinion, people with disabilities, as well as their carers, are given the right to support, which you receive among other things through the health insurance company. Support ranges from the search and payment of appropriate care services to aids and barrier-free conversions of the home. You will also receive assistance when applying for nursing times for you as a relative.
